About this tool
SGPA is the credit-weighted average of grade points for one semester, and CGPA combines semesters the same way. The catch is that every institution defines its grades, grade points and percentage conversion differently. A grade "B" may be worth 6 at one university and 7 at another.
So this calculator does not hard-code a single scheme. Edit the grade scale below to match your institution, add subjects with credits, and compute SGPA. Then combine semesters into CGPA and apply the conversion multiplier your institution publishes.
How to use the CGPA and SGPA Calculator
- Check the grade scale and edit it if your institution uses different grade points, then press Apply scale.
- Add one row per subject: choose the grade and type the credit value.
- Press Calculate SGPA.
- For CGPA, enter each semester's SGPA and total credits, set your institution's multiplier and press Calculate CGPA.
Practical examples
How it works
SGPA = sum(credits x grade points) / sum(credits).
CGPA = sum(SGPA x semester credits) / sum(semester credits). Some institutions average semesters equally instead; if yours does, give each semester the same credit value.
Percentage = CGPA x multiplier. The multiplier, and even whether a formula exists, depends on your institution. Always use the official conversion from your university, board or employer.
Privacy and file processing
Calculations run locally. Only your grade scale is saved, in your browser's localStorage.

Frequently asked questions
Why can I edit the grade scale?
Because grade points differ between universities and even between programmes. Editing keeps results aligned with your own rules.
Are failed or non-credit subjects included?
Enter an F grade with its credits if it counts in your SGPA, and leave out audit or non-credit subjects.
Is the percentage conversion accurate for my university?
Only if you enter the multiplier your university publishes. Treat the output as an estimate otherwise.
Are my grades saved online?
No. Only the grade scale text is stored in your own browser, nothing is uploaded.
